Profile of Chris Doyle
As an education safety adviser.
Chris has been a health and safety consultant for over 15 years working initially for a national consultancy company covering all types of industry. In 1997 he moved into education working as the Senior Safety Adviser for a large education authority with the responsibility for some 400 schools. He led a team of safety advisers providing a full range of Health and Safety services to these schools and the education departmental offices. The services included safety audits and reports, accident investigation, training and management advice.
A health and safety lecturer.
Chris was the lecturer at Stafford College teaching all aspects of health and safety. This included lecturing on all courses as well as running a team of part time lecturers. Subjects taught at the college included all of the Nebosh courses for safety professionals and the IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) and CIEH (Chartered Institute of Environmental Health) courses for companies and organisations such as the NHS.
Head of Health and Safety for Staffordshire CC, Social Care and Health
His duties here were to manage a team of safety advisers providing a complete range of health and safety advice and support to the Social Care and Health Directorate at the County Council. It included safety audits, advice visits, accident investigation and training for care home staff. During this time the service was also offered to the private, independent and voluntary sector care providers where they received training in health and safety and fire risk assessment. Chris is also an IOSH qualified moving and handling trainer.
Senior Consultant and trainer at Central Management Systems.
Chris is now a partner in Central Management Systems where he runs most of the training courses. From his background he is ideally placed to deliver courses aimed specifically at the education and care sectors, knowing and understanding the particular problems faced by each.
He has also written the very comprehensive generic risk assessment documents for day nurseries, schools and care homes. These compliment the risk assessment training making the follow up risk assessment process easier as well as saving a considerable amount of time.
Chris is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, and holds the Certificate in Education. Chris is therefore qualified to teach Government funded training when the new rules come into place later in 2010 under the PTLLS scheme.
