The Model Safety Policy is one of the supporting packages from Central Management Systems to accompany your risk assessment package.

This document has been compiled to give you an indication of the requirements of a safety policy for a typical primary school. It may contain information that is not relevant to your school and there may be items missing that you will require. The idea is to give a general policy that may be tailored to suit your school.

This method has been found to be greatly beneficial in assisting schools that either have no policy or one that is badly in need of updating. It is a legal requirement that the safety policy for your school fits your school and is not just a copy of someone else's. For this reason, it is important that this policy is tailored to suit your individual school and not to simply have the school name added at the beginning.

By starting with a model like this it will greatly reduce the time taken to develop a policy from scratch and should assist in deciding what items need to be included in your policy.
