This document has been a long time in the making and has been built up by health and safety professionals who have a great deal of experience of working in schools. The document 'Risk Assessments for secondary schools - the simple solution' will greatly simplify the task of completing the risk assessments for your school.

The take up for the primary schools has been excellent and the feedback has all been positive.  The most common comment has been, "with this document, we can now complete the task".

The package covers whole school risk assessment, which has built on the proven and established primary school document.  It has then been expanded to cover the high risk curriculum areas such as Art, DT, Drama, PE and Science.

These additional sections cover the general hazards that will be found in these curriculum areas and do not duplicate information contained in the likes of CLEAPSS, instead it refers to them where necessary and is a useful accompaniment.

Risk assessments are a legal requirement, checked by OFSTED, and are an important part of the school Health and Safety Policy. This generic document has made it easier for schools to comply with this legal requirement and greatly simplifies the task. It follows the guidelines issued by the Health and Safety Executive and puts it in a simple format.  Having purchased the package it is also available on disk to make it easier to tailor to your school.
